About the event
We are SO excited for another full moon Sunset hike! This time we will be celebrating the Harvest moon, the last full moon of the summer before we transition into the cooler, darker, introspective space of the autumn and winter months to come. The shift in the seasons reminds us of the importance of the cycles of life, birth, death and rebirth in order to create balance on earth and in our personal lives. The harvest moon received its name from farmers because of the bright full moon illumination that it shares in the early evenings, leaving farmers with more time to harvest their crops. The harvest moon is an opportunity to gather all that we have created over the last growing season, take time to celebrate & appreciate all the hard work that we have done, and shed any layers of fear and doubt to prepare for the preservation, conservation & restoration of fall and winter.
We will celebrate this year's harvest with a short sunset hike, an exploration of the medicine wheel, a harvest moon meditation & yoga, a healing drum circle, a dance beneath the moonlight and special chinese moon cakes!
Meet at the Fernwood Trailhead in Layton on Wednesday, September 7th, @ 6:30 PM.
